Probably by Lines Bros. Originally made for John Whittington’s Dobbies c1865. The ride was later converted to galloper motion, and most of the original mounts replaced by later (larger) ones. The ride passed through several hands, last opening at Newsomes Amusement Park on Anglesey, before the main components were rescued by Jack Scofield. Woody White, the Somerset-based carver, restored the horse about 15 years ago; it has been decorated as close as possible to the original design.
