Brooklands Speedway

A Formidable History

Question: What’s the difference between a dodgem and a Brooklands Speedway?

Dodgems get their power from the overhead mesh which runs down a pole, through the motor and then goes into the metal track.

On the Speedway, there are positive and negative strips running around the track and each strip is separated by insulation. A series of brushes under the car pick up the electricity from the positive strip, it runs through the motor and returns down a different brush to the negative one.
